Digitalwerk sets course for the future: Regensburg-based software development company focuses on autonomous systems
The software development company digitalwerk has used the phase, at the beginning of the year, to lay the foundation for a secure future: in the sharpened company strategy, the management of the Regensburg-based ADAS specialist focuses on autonomous systems in software development.
“With the adjustment of our company strategy, we continue to position ourselves as a company strongly for the future as well as for the coming trends in software development,” says Enrico Engel, Managing Director of digitalwerk, explaining the objective behind the new company strategy. Engel adds, “Regularly challenging the roadmap is necessary to be prepared for the ever-changing market conditions.” The aim of the efforts was to be able to present our customers and partners with a clear company profile of digitalwerk with the new company strategy, but also to show the digitalwerk employees internally a clear direction for the future.
The workshops of the Regensburg-based software specialist resulted in a new vision, mission and claim for digitalwerk as components of the strategy. In the newly developed vision, digitalwerk states the connection of the different worlds of technology development as the target state. This is to be achieved by developing highly specialized software products for autonomous systems, in a creative and agile way. “In our corporate vision, we link the basis of our entrepreneurial activities – the development of highly specialized software products – with the future trend in software development: the industry is moving towards autonomous systems,” Engel explains the corporate vision. “In addition, we have deliberately not limited our vision of digitalwerk to a specific industry, as we want to transfer our know-how to other sectors and make our solutions universally applicable,” Engel continues.
This know-how transfer is explicitly taken up in digitalwerk’s mission. With digitalwerk’s company mission, the customer receives a clear company profile of digitalwerk. In the mission, the ADAS specialist presents its original strength in software development for the automotive industry. At the same time, digitalwerk expresses with the mission that the software development company is able to develop quickly adaptable software products due to this long-standing expertise from the automotive world and thus transfer the competitive advantages to new industries.
The claim “Highly Sophisticated Software Tools For Autonomous Systems” rounds off the results of the realignment. “With our claim and especially through the expression “Sophisticated Software Tools”, we want to prove that our team always finds a sophisticated, highly developed solution for our customers,” Engel describes the ulterior motive of the claim. “We at digitalwerk are system understanders. For this reason, we always include all relevant aspects to find a solution.”
Managing Director Engel is very satisfied with the new company strategy for digitalwerk, howevrt is already looking ahead to the following year. For 2021, Engel wants to focus with digitalwerk on strengthening strategic partnerships, building a business model for open source software development and on new, proprietary product ideas. The course has been set.
